The answer
Checked October 19, 2026: Solar Servicing LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Forbright Bank that took over Mosaic's solar loan servicing on September 22, 2025, after Mosaic's Chapter 11 plan took effect.[1] If you had a Mosaic solar loan, you most likely pay Solar Servicing now. It says payment terms and schedules did not change, there is no prepayment penalty, and it does not offer loan transfers or refinancing.[2][3]
Our partner Solar Exit Group (Uso Holdings LLC) takes solar loans from any lender except Tesla. No cost to submit. Paid partner; it does not change our ratings.
Who is Solar Servicing LLC?
Forbright Bank announced from Chevy Chase, Maryland on September 22, 2025 that Solar Servicing LLC, its wholly owned subsidiary, had completed its acquisition of the loan servicing operations of Solar Mosaic LLC following Mosaic's court-approved Chapter 11 plan.[1] Solar Servicing says it is “only a loan servicing company” and does not originate loans; Mosaic no longer makes new loans either.[2] Its NMLS ID is 2744383.[4]
So “Solar Servicing,” “Solar Servicing LLC” and “Mosaic loan servicing” on a statement or bank record are generally the same account: the old Mosaic loan, with a new servicer.
Which loans does Solar Servicing service?
| Date | Event | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Jun 6, 2025 | Mosaic files Chapter 11 in the Southern District of Texas (jointly administered under 25-90156) | [5] |
| Early Sep 2025 | Mosaic's plan is confirmed | [6] |
| Sep 22, 2025 | Mosaic emerges; Solar Servicing LLC takes over loan servicing | [6][1] |
Solar Servicing services former Mosaic solar loans “for most customers.”[2] The exception: some Mosaic loans were sold to investors who picked a different servicer. Those borrowers got a Servicing Transition letter, and Solar Servicing tells them to use the contact information in that letter.[2] We found no public statement that Solar Servicing services loans from any lender other than Mosaic.
Installer went bankrupt too? Many Mosaic loans were sold by installers that later failed, such as Freedom Forever. The loan stays with the loan holder even when the installer is gone. See the Freedom Forever tracker and the full Mosaic solar loan guide.
How do I know if Solar Servicing holds my loan?
- Your loan documents say Mosaic or Solar Mosaic and you have not received a Servicing Transition letter naming another company: Solar Servicing is your servicer.[2]
- You got a Servicing Transition letter naming a different servicer: follow that letter.[2]
- Not sure? Call Solar Servicing at (866) 493-6367 or email loanservicing@solarservicingllc.com with your name and property address.[2][7] Or use our who services my solar loan lookup.

- Autopay and your rate: Solar Servicing says signing up for automatic ACH payments lowers your interest rate to the lowest available for your loan, and canceling ACH raises your rate and payment.[3] People search for “Solar Servicing Sure Pay”; that name does not appear on Solar Servicing's FAQ.
- Tax credit: if you receive a federal solar tax credit, you can choose to apply it to your balance through the portal.[3]

- No prepayment penalty: you pay only interest already accrued.[3]
- The lien: Solar Servicing records a UCC-1 financing statement on the solar equipment only, not on the house.[3]

- Selling the house: Solar Servicing does not offer loan transfers and suggests a payoff at sale; contact Borrower Support early if you are already in a sale.[3]
- Death of a borrower: the loan stays with the estate. Send a copy of the death certificate to loanservicing@solarservicingllc.com; Solar Servicing says it releases the security filing once the balance is paid.[3]

Solar Servicing lawsuits and regulatory actions
We found no government enforcement action naming Solar Servicing LLC itself in the public sources we checked. The lawsuits people associate with it name Solar Mosaic, the original lender, and are allegations, not findings:
- Minnesota (March 8, 2024): the Minnesota Attorney General sued GoodLeap, Sunlight Financial, Solar Mosaic and Dividend Solar Finance, alleging hidden dealer fees on solar loans.[12] We could not confirm the current status of the claims against Mosaic after its bankruptcy.
- New York (March 17, 2026): the New York Attorney General sued installer Attyx (formerly SUNco), its executives and lenders Solar Mosaic and WebBank, alleging hidden fees and understated loan costs.[13]
If your Mosaic loan amount was higher than the cash price you were quoted, keep both documents. The FTC Holder Rule can let you raise claims against the seller with the holder of a covered consumer credit contract, capped at what you paid.[14]
What you can do if you have a Solar Servicing loan
- Pay off or refinance elsewhere. Solar Servicing does not refinance, but there is no prepayment penalty.[3]
- Sell and pay off at closing. Order the payoff early.
- Dispute under the FTC Holder Rule if the installer misrepresented the deal, forged documents or never finished the system.[14]
- Complain to the CFPB or your attorney general if the account is mishandled.[9]
We do not advise homeowners to stop making payments or breach contractual obligations. Solar Servicing says borrowers must keep paying on or before the due date to avoid penalties under the loan agreement.[2]
