The answer

Checked October 20, 2026: Mosaic went through Chapter 11 in 2025, and since September 22, 2025 most Mosaic solar loans are serviced by Solar Servicing LLC, a subsidiary of Forbright Bank. Forbright says payment terms and schedules did not change, and the loan is generally still owed. Solar Servicing says there is no prepayment penalty and it does not offer loan transfers.[3][5]

Who services my Mosaic loan now?

Solar Servicing LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Forbright Bank, acquired Mosaic's loan servicing operations on September 22, 2025. Forbright said borrowers' payment terms and schedules remain unchanged and existing payment methods stay active.[3] Solar Servicing's site now carries the notice “Mosaic Loan Servicing is now Solar Servicing.”[4]

One exception: Solar Servicing says servicing continues under it “for most customers.” Some Mosaic loans were sold to investors who chose another servicer; those borrowers received a servicing transition letter with different contact details.[4] If your statement names a different company, follow that.

What the Mosaic bankruptcy changed, and what it did not

Mosaic filed Chapter 11 on June 6, 2025 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas; the cases are jointly administered under case 25-90156.[1] Its plan was confirmed in early September 2025 and it emerged on September 22, 2025, with Forbright taking over as servicer and administrator of the asset-backed securitization trusts that hold many of the loans.[2]

  • Changed: who you pay and where you call.
  • Not changed: your balance, rate, term or the obligation to pay. Solar Servicing states borrowers must keep paying under the same terms and schedule.[4]
  • Not affected: any claims you have against your installer. If your installer also went bankrupt, see for example our Freedom Forever tracker.

Mosaic loan payoff and UCC termination

  1. Get the payoff amount. Your Solar Servicing online account shows a payoff amount. For a payoff amount for a specific date up to 10 calendar days ahead, email loanservicing@solarservicingllc.com.[5]
  2. No prepayment penalty. Solar Servicing says you can pay off at any time and pay only accrued interest.[5]
  3. The lien. Solar Servicing records a UCC-1 financing statement on the solar equipment only, not on the house itself.[5]
  4. Solar Mosaic UCC termination. If the filing is not released after payoff, send a written demand. Under UCC Section 9-513, for consumer goods the secured party must file a termination within one month after payoff or within 20 days after your demand if sooner (state versions vary).[11]

Selling a house with a Mosaic loan

Solar Servicing says it does not offer loan transfers and suggests a payoff to complete a home sale; call (866) 493-6367, option 3, early in the sale.[5][6] Your title company will usually request the payoff letter and the release. Selling a home with solar.

Autopay and your interest rate

People search for “Solar Servicing Sure Pay.” Solar Servicing's FAQ does not use that name, but it says you can manage autopay in your online account and that signing up for automatic ACH payments lowers your interest rate to the lowest rate available for your loan.[5] If you were on autopay with Mosaic, check that the discount still shows on your statement.

Mosaic lawsuits

These are allegations, not findings:

  • Minnesota (2024): the Minnesota Attorney General sued GoodLeap, Sunlight Financial, Solar Mosaic and Dividend Solar Finance in Hennepin County, alleging hidden dealer fees of about $35 million on thousands of Minnesota solar loans.[7] We could not confirm the current status, including how Mosaic's bankruptcy affected the claims.
  • New York (2026): the New York Attorney General sued installer Attyx (formerly SUNco), its executives and lenders Solar Mosaic and WebBank, alleging the lenders hid fees in system prices and understated loan costs.[8]
  • Tennessee and Kentucky (2023 to 2026): the states sued installer Solar Titan USA and Solar Mosaic in federal court in Knoxville. On September 16, 2026 the court entered a consent judgment, with no admission by Mosaic, requiring Mosaic to stop collecting the Solar Titan loans it still held as of March 6, 2026. See our Solar Titan USA lawsuit guide.

The CFPB's 2024 report on solar financing describes how dealer fees can inflate loan amounts.[9] If your loan amount was higher than the cash price you were quoted, keep both documents.

Your options with a Mosaic loan

  • Pay off or refinance (no prepayment penalty per Solar Servicing).[5]
  • Sell and pay off at closing.
  • Dispute under the FTC Holder Rule if the installer misrepresented the deal, forged documents or never finished the system. The rule lets you raise claims against the seller with the holder of the loan, capped at what you paid.[10]
  • Complain to the CFPB or your state attorney general if the servicer mishandles your account.[12]

We do not advise homeowners to stop making payments or breach contractual obligations. Missed payments can trigger late fees and other penalties under your loan agreement; a dispute is raised in writing while you keep paying.

Did Mosaic go bankrupt?

Do I still have to pay my Mosaic solar loan?

Generally, yes. Solar Servicing says payment terms and schedules are unchanged and borrowers must keep paying. We do not advise homeowners to stop making payments or breach contractual obligations.

Your online account shows a payoff amount. For a payoff amount for a date up to 10 calendar days ahead, email loanservicing@solarservicingllc.com.

How do I get a Solar Mosaic UCC termination?

Solar Servicing says its UCC-1 covers the equipment, not the house. If the filing is not released after payoff, send a written demand; UCC Section 9-513 sets deadlines for the termination.

Can I transfer my Mosaic loan to a buyer?

Generally no. Solar Servicing says it does not offer loan transfers at this time and suggests a payoff when you sell.

What is Solar Servicing Sure Pay?

Solar Servicing's FAQ does not use that name. It offers autopay through your online account, and signing up for automatic ACH payments lowers your interest rate to the lowest available for your loan.
