The answer

Checked October 21, 2026: EnFin describes itself as Qcells' in-house solar and storage financing provider. It offers solar loans, leases and PPAs through partner installers, depending on where you live, and its loans are made through Hatch Bank.[1][2] EnFin says it charges no prepayment penalty, gives a 0.25% APR reduction for autopay, and lets a qualified buyer assume a loan, though it recommends payoff first.[2] Account Servicing: (866) 970-1109.[3]

Who is EnFin?

EnFin says it is "Qcells' In-House Solar & Storage Financing Provider" and that it is backed by Qcells.[1][2] It works through a network of partner installers, which is why your installer may have a different name than EnFin.[2] Its FAQ says it offers loans, leases and PPAs in specific geographies, and that Hatch Bank is its chartered financial institution.[2] BBB lists EnFin (EnFin Corp) at 300 Spectrum Center Dr., Suite 500, Irvine, California, incorporated December 27, 2021.[4]

Loan or PPA? Your agreement says which. With an EnFin loan you own the system and EnFin holds a security interest in it. With EnFin's Levelized PPA, EnFin owns the system for 25 years, keeps the tax credits, and bills you a set monthly payment that can rise by a 0%, 2.99% or 3.5% yearly escalator.[2]

Sources: EnFin contact and homeowner pages.[3][2] The contact page also prints the servicing number as (886) 970-1109 in two places, and the homeowner FAQ gives a different payment box (P.O. Box 674863, Dallas, TX 75267-4863). Use the address on your statement.

EnFin loan payoff and the UCC filing

EnFin says there are no penalties or fees to pay off your loan early; request a payoff quote in your online account or at (866) 970-1109. Prepayments are applied to accrued interest first, then principal. Autopay from a checking account lowers your APR by 0.25%.[2]

The filing on your title. EnFin says it does not place a lien on the home, but it files a UCC-1 and a county fixture filing that show on the property's title and give it a security interest in the solar system.[2] After payoff, ask for the termination. Under UCC Section 9-513, for consumer goods the secured party must file a termination statement within one month after nothing is owed, or within 20 days of your signed demand if sooner; state versions vary.[8] Our UCC lien removal guide has a demand letter.

Selling or refinancing with an EnFin loan or PPA

Loan. EnFin's first recommendation is to pay the loan off at closing. A buyer may assume the loan after an application process; call at least 30 days before closing.[2] EnFin's homepage says its loans are "fully transferable to the new homeowner upon credit approval."[1] For a mortgage refinance, EnFin offers a subordination process; call at least 30 days ahead.[2]

Levelized PPA. When you move, EnFin offers three options: transfer the agreement to the buyer, buy out the system if it has been in service for five years, or prepay the remaining monthly payments while EnFin keeps owning and monitoring the system. Contact EnFin at least 30 days before escrow; buyout and prepayment amounts are quoted per system.[2]

Who fixes an EnFin PPA system?

For PPA systems, EnFin says a third-party vendor, Omnidian, monitors the system and contacts you about problems, and that repairs, warrantied or not, are covered at no additional cost. To reach Omnidian, call EnFin at (866) 970-1109. If you buy out the system, servicing becomes your responsibility.[2]

EnFin complaints: BBB and CFPB

BBB. On October 21, 2026, EnFin's BBB profile showed it as BBB accredited with a B rating, and listed 196 complaints in the last 3 years and 95 in the last 12 months.[4][5] The ten most recent shown were filed as product, customer service, order, and service or repair issues. Complaints are consumers' accounts, not findings.

CFPB. We searched the CFPB Consumer Complaint Database on October 21, 2026 and found no complaints listed under an EnFin or Hatch Bank company name.[6] You can still file one about a solar loan.[9]

EnFin's own process. EnFin says it acknowledges a complaint to Complaintsdesk@enfin.com within 5 business days and gives a written response within 15 business days. To escalate, email the same address with a subject line starting "Complaint Escalation:" plus a summary, your case number and why the first answer fell short.[3]

Your options with EnFin

  • Loan: pay off or refinance with no prepayment penalty, or sell and pay off at closing.[2]
  • Installer problems on a loan. Consumer credit contracts arranged by a seller generally must carry the FTC Holder Rule notice, which lets you raise claims and defenses against the seller with the holder of the contract, capped at what you paid.[7]
  • PPA: transfer, prepay, or buy out after year five.[2]
  • Escalate through EnFin's complaints desk, then your state attorney general, the BBB or the CFPB.[3][9]

We do not advise homeowners to stop making payments or breach contractual obligations. Missed payments can trigger late fees and other penalties under your agreement; a dispute is raised in writing while you keep paying.
